About Us
A friendly club with a long history in Boroondara, tucked away in a quiet street in the heart of Hawthorn East.
Our story
Auburn Bowls Club was formed in 1886 and has a long history in Boroondara. It was established by Augustus Fritsch and a number of former members of other clubs. The Fritsch-Holzer brickmaking firm in Hawthorn supported the club in its early years, leasing the grounds where the club stands today.
Over the years the club has been very successful, winning many pennants through the 1960s, 70s and 80s. More recently it has had a great run of success, winning a pennant nearly every year in recent seasons.
